A great day yesterday, we had free motion quilting class with Brioni Greenberg and much discussion about new classes.  We have lots planned for the new year so keep an eye out in January for the news about that but this is how the rest of the year looks:

Sunday 10th November & Sunday 24th November 9.30 to 4pm
Beginners patchwork class with Brioni Greenberg
We will be making the quilt below:

This is a two day class, you will need your own machine and to know how to use it, sewing kit, walking foot for your machine for day two of the class.  Rotary cutter, mat and ruler if you have them please bring your own, we will have a limited number to borrow on the day, and a packed lunch.

The cost for the class is £100. This includes two days tuition and the kit to make the whole quilt including wadding and backing worth over £65
You will learn cutting, piecing, basting, quilting and binding, everything you need to go on and do other quilts on your own from start to finish.

If you have done a beginners class with us before which was not this pattern don't think you cant do this one too, it's a great opportunity to learn a different piecing method and take advantage of the special offer of the kit.
There will be a good choice of kit on the day.
Places are limited so don't miss out and let us know if you would like a place!

Sunday 8th December
Petals Class

This will be a great class using this pattern from Brioni Greenberg as featured in Love Patchwork & Quilting Magazine.  Techniques learned will be half square triangles, piecing, using fusible web, raw edge appliqué and quilting.
You will need your own machine and to know how to use it, sewing kit, free motion quilting foot/walking foot for your machine.  Brioni will give you lots of ideas of what to do with your finished piece, the emphasis will be on learning the techniques, you can then leave this as a single piece or expand it into something bigger.
There will be a choice of kit on the day included in the price of the class, the kits will be made from fabrics that I have a good amount of in case you wish to make a bigger item after the class.
Cost for the class and all materials £40
Again places are limited to ensure a good experience for all so do book early to avoid disappointment.

*please note I do not include thread for these classes as until you choose your kit I don't what colours you will need.  You are very welcome to bring your own or purchase from us on the day. Good quality cotton is best please to avoid snapping and frustration.*

Wednesday 13th November
Intermediate crochet class
This is a 5 week course, 6.30 to 7.30, a great follow on from beginners or for if you have some knowledge already.
You will learn pop corns and bobbles, waves and chevrons and much more.
Cost: £35 for the 5 weeks includes tea, coffee and cake and a ball of yarn.
There are only 5 places left on this course as much interest has been shown already, let us know if you want a place, it is unlikely that we will be able to fit another intermediate in before Christmas.

We are booking from tomorrow Tuesday 15th, Pam will be in the shop to take your details from 10am and card payment can be done either over the phone or in person in the shop.  Your place is booked by payment in full in advance please.

Coming in the new year:

Cathedral window class, beginners crochet, intermediate crochet, advanced crochet.  More beginners patchwork, possibly this

And tons more.  If there is anything you would like us to do and we haven't yet do please let us know.
Hope to see you in class soon!
